What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is an in-work training programme that allows you to work with professionals in a specific industry. On a SIGTA managed programme earn at least £200 per week from day one and gain accredited qualifications in your chosen field.

It gives you a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience to help you kick-start your career.

What levels are available from SIGTA?

Technical/Engineering Standard at Level 3, Duration 36 to 48 months.

Business Administrator Standard at Level 3, Duration 18 months.

Technical/Engineering Standard at Level 4, Duration 42-48 months.


The Standards that you will work towards will more or less be equivalent to the qualifications shown in the chart below.

What qualifications will I gain?

You will work towards the new Standards apprenticeship which combine both on and off the job training. These are competency based to show that you have the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to industry.

You will also complete Functional Skills, helping you achieve a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
