SIGTA AME Course now open to all learners

EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

We have been delivering the AME courses to our apprentices from our Portslade and Eastbourne training centres. From September 2023 we are opening this course to persons who are not on apprenticeship programmes.

We currently have engineering fitters (mechanical and electrical), CAD technicians, maintenance and electrical/electronic technicians attending.

This qualification provides learners with knowledge and understanding of a complex blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours across Advanced Manufacturing Engineering disciplines. The qualification covers the advanced knowledge, understanding and skills that are required by someone working in the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering sector.

Our day-release course is runs over two years roughly aligned with college terms and is delevered one day each week with two days every fourth week.

Another night in Ebo!

We were at The Apprenticeships Roadshow in Eastbourne last night at a crazily busy show. Jacquie from SIGTA was along for this one and met three young people who have applied for SIGTA apprenticeships! Earlier in the day she had put their names forward for current vacancies.

Also great to see Dan Wahnon from Technoturn (part of the Techno Group) on a stand close to us also promoting apprenticeships and helped out by three apprentices on SIGTA programmes. It really helps to spread the word when companies attend these busy events, reinforcing how vital a role apprentices play. I see Dan regularly at these shows and really appreciate his work and giving up his time to be there. Right now we have some apprenticeship vacancies with Technoturn in Hastings on our vacancies page here: https://sigta.co.uk/technical-and-business-apprentice-vacancies-in-sussex/

More careers shows coming up next week.

Here’s Jacquie!

Rye College Careers event.

Yesterday we were in Rye promoting the wide range of apprenticeship vacancies that we have in Hastings to year 10’s – from CAD Technician, to Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Maintenance, to Machining Technician, to Engineering Fitter.

A busy event and good interest from the students who will be leaving school next year and were not very familiar with apprenticeships. They are now 🙂

Here’s Darryl before the show started.

Thanks Henry for organising such a great event!

How would you like to become a flight simulator technician?

Next week our advert will go ‘live’ to recruit four flight simulator technicians for CAE Gatwick. Circle back to our vacancies page on our website – but please do not contact CAE directly as all applications must go through SIGTA. Applicants must be 18 or over and full vacancy details will be posted on our vacancies page next week.
