Employers

Supporting employers with skills that strengthen industry

SIGTA works in partnership with employers to develop skilled, confident workforces through high‑quality apprenticeships and training. As an employer‑led, not‑for‑profit
Group Training Association, our focus is on practical skills, real job roles, and long‑term workforce capability.

Whether you are recruiting new talent, developing your existing team, or planning ahead for future skills and funding, we provide clear, supportive guidance shaped by industry needs.

How we support employers

Employers face increasing pressure to attract talent, retain skilled staff, and ensure employees are competent, productive, and future‑ready. Our role is to make workforce development straightforward and purposeful.

SIGTA works with employers to:

  • Recruit and train apprentices aligned to real job roles
  • Upskill existing employees through workplace‑based training
  • Understand and make effective use of apprenticeship and skills funding
  • Identify skills gaps and plan for future workforce needs
  • Build long‑term training partnerships grounded in industry insight

Our approach is flexible, employer‑led, and designed to fit around day‑to‑day business operations.

Conflict-Management

Choose the support that fits your business

Recruit an apprentice

Build future talent by recruiting apprentices trained to meet the needs of your business. SIGTA supports employers throughout the process, from identifying suitable roles to providing ongoing training and support once an apprentice is in post.

Upskill your team

Apprenticeships and training are not just for new starters. Develop the skills of your existing workforce to improve performance, retention, and progression, using structured training that supports real responsibilities in the workplace.

Growth and Skills Levy

Apprenticeship and skills funding continues to evolve. SIGTA helps employers understand how funding applies in practice and how to use it effectively as part of a wider workforce plan, rather than focusing on funding rules alone.

Apprenticeship Units

Apprenticeship units provide a flexible, targeted approach to workforce development, helping employers quickly address skills gaps while building practical capability aligned to real job roles.

Membership and corporate social responsibility

SIGTA membership offers more than training delivery. It is a partnership that gives employers access to insight, support, and an active role in shaping employer‑led workforce development, while demonstrating a clear commitment to skills, people, and responsible growth.

SIGTA Training & Development Review

Understanding current capability and future needs is key to effective workforce planning. SIGTA’s Training and Development Review provides employers with a structured opportunity to assess skills gaps, succession planning, and training priorities aligned to business objectives.

Training & Development Review

SIGTA’s Training & Development Review is an annual, face-to-face discussion with senior management or HR, designed to help employers understand current workforce capability and future training needs.

The review explores skills gaps, succession planning and opportunities to upskill existing employees. It also provides guidance on how apprenticeships, training solutions and available government funding can be used to support business objectives.

Following the review, SIGTA can support employers with apprentice recruitment, bespoke training solutions and practical advice to help manage workforce development effectively.

This service is included as part of SIGTA membership. Non-members please get in contact to discuss your requirements.
