Training designed around your workforce

Upskilling can take many forms, depending on the needs of your business and your staff. This may include apprenticeships for existing employees, NVQs and competence-based qualifications, or targeted training courses to strengthen specific skills.

SIGTA works with employers to identify the most appropriate training route, ensuring development is relevant, proportionate, and aligned with operational requirements.

Supporting development in the workplace

All training delivered by SIGTA is designed to work alongside normal job roles. Learning is delivered in the workplace or at SIGTA's premises and is vocationally relevant, helping employees build skills through real tasks and responsibilities.

For Apprenticeships and NVQs, employers and individuals receive ongoing support throughout the programme, including regular contact with a SIGTA training officer and structured progress reviews to support learning and development.

Training & Development Review

SIGTA’s Training & Development Review is an annual, face-to-face discussion with senior management or HR, designed to help employers understand current workforce capability and future training needs.

The review explores skills gaps, succession planning and opportunities to upskill existing employees. It also provides guidance on how apprenticeships, training solutions and available government funding can be used to support business objectives.

Following the review, SIGTA can support employers with apprentice recruitment, bespoke training solutions and practical advice to help manage workforce development effectively.
