Recruit an apprentice
Grow your own talent

Apprenticeships enable employers to develop skills that are aligned to their business, while building a capable and sustainable workforce for the future.

SIGTA works with employers to recruit apprentices and support them through practical, workplace-based training that focuses on real job roles and long-term development. Our approach is employer-led, supportive, and designed to deliver meaningful skills within the workplace.

Recruit an apprentice

Why you should recruit an apprentice

Employers choose apprenticeships as a structured and effective way to develop new talent within their organisation. Apprenticeships help businesses to:

  • Build skills that reflect real job roles and working practices
  • Develop future talent and support succession planning
  • Improve retention by offering clear development and progression routes
  • Bring new people into the business with the right training and support in place

Apprenticeships offer a practical route into employment, while enabling employers to shape skills from the outset.

Why Employers Work With SIGTA

Tailored Training

Apprenticeships built around your business

SIGTA works with employers to identify the most appropriate apprenticeship and level before recruitment begins. This ensures the programme reflects the role, the workplace environment, and the needs of the business from day one.

Frequent Workplace Visits

Support beyond recruitment

Once an apprentice is in post, SIGTA provides ongoing support for both the employer and the apprentice. This includes workplace-based training, regular onsite visits with a SIGTA training officer, and structured progress reviews to support development throughout the programme.

Frequent Workplace Visits

Finding and selecting the right apprentice

Employers remain fully in control of who they recruit. SIGTA supports the recruitment process by helping employers promote vacancies, attract suitable candidates, and make informed selection decisions.

Why work with SIGTA

SIGTA is an employer-led, not-for-profit Group Training Association delivering practical, real-world training.

We work in partnership with employers, tailoring apprenticeship support to business needs and reinvesting into services that improve outcomes for both employers and apprentices.

Selecting the right candidate

Candidates available to start throughout the year

Most of our apprenticeships can start at any time of the year and do not need to align with the academic year.

If you are considering recruiting an apprentice, the best place to start is a conversation with SIGTA.
