We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic CNC Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in precision engineering and machining. Under the guidance of experienced machinists, you will learn how to operate, set up, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines while gaining valuable hands-on experience of CNC Turning and CNC Milling (vertical) using 3 and 5-Axis machinery whilst working towards relevant qualifications. You will also have the opportunity to support research and development (R&D) projects, helping to manufacture and test prototype components and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Tasks:

  • Learn to safely set and operate machines while maintaining quality standards to achieve first off approval.
  • Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, and routine maintenance.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
  • Support experienced machinists in producing high-quality parts to specification.
  • Follow company quality standards and health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
  • Record production data and complete apprenticeship training requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes.
  • Deburring 
  • Updating production management documentation using ERP system
  • Work alongside engineers to trial new machining methods, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support product development by producing one-off and low-volume prototype parts.
